The chairs of pedagogical university have concentrated their efforts on conducting of fundamental research in the priority branches of science recently.

All attention is concentrated on the structural rearrangement of science in the interests of society, increasing of its importance for the solution of problems of social and economic development of the Ukraine, of the spiritual enrichment of people, on the basic research in the sphere of humanitarian, psychological-pedagogical sciences, of problems of education.

4375 items of scientific production, including 43 monographs and 205 textbooks and training-method manuals were published by our lectures during five years (1996-2000). The considerable part of this was recommended to be introduced in the teaching and educational process by Ministry of education and science of the Ukraine.

About 30 scientific conferences were held on the basis of pedagogical university during last five years. Among them were 11 international conferences, in particular " Up-to-date information technologies and innovations in the methods of training of specialists: methodology, theory, experience, problems ", " Physical culture, sport and health of nation ", II international algebraic conference in commemoration of professor L.A. Kaluzhnyn, international astronomical conference "CAMMAC-99". Besides Ukrainian researchers, the scientists of the USA, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Czechia, Poland, Bulgaria, Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova and other countries participated in these measures.

In 1999 the first issues of "Scientific notes " of Vinnytsya state pedagogical university (series " Pedagogics and psychology ", "Philology", "History") were published. VAK of the Ukraine entered the scientific notes (series "Pedagogics", "History" and "Philology") as well as the materials of the international conference " Physical culture, sports and health of nation " in the list of the scientific editions, where the main results of thesis could be published.

Conducting its research work, the pedagogical university cooperates with APN of the Ukraine, scientific research institutes NAN of the Ukraine, Kyjiv national university named after T.G. Shevchenko, National pedagogical university named after M. Dragomanov and other high educational establishments and centers of science of the Ukraine.

The chairs of university have established creative relations of various forms with the centers of science and educational institutions of Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova and the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland and other countries. Different programs on academic and scientific exchanges are successfully put into practice.

The students defend above 350 theses; participate in international and republican scientific conferences, all-Ukrainian students' Olympiads annually. Thus the students of the pedagogical university won 10 prize places in the second stage of all-Ukrainian students' Olympiads only during 1999-2000 academic year.
