The population of
Lipovyets region is representatives of the Central-Ukrainian anthropological
oblast. Scythians, ulichs, black klobuks, lipans, Cossacks-ukhodniks,
resettlers from Sivershchyna and Volyn were his ethnic and historical
predecessors.
From the
ethnographic point of view the territory of the region is located on the border
of Podolye and Kiyevschina in the historical Ukrainian land Bratslavshchina.
Volyn dialect predominates here. Some time later villages, where Armenians,
Poles, Jews lived, appeared. In 1930 105 thousand of population lived in
Lipovyets region, but because of the dubious experiments being made by the
Soviet government this number reduced as much as twice. Nowadays 44,3 thousand
people live there, 96% of them are Ukrainians.
5900 persons of the
population of the region are involved in the sphere of agriculture, 1282 - in
the sphere of industry. The rest of them deal with trade, building,
communication, transport, etc.
The level of
registered unemployment was 5,4% at the end of the year 2000.
The natality was -
0,5 thousand people in 1999 and it has tendency towards increasing.

of the region are youth up to 30 years old, 15012 are pensioners.
